Frank A. Mason is the pen name for a retired US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel who was a college professor for 25 years. A Florida Writer’s Association member, Frank A. Mason writes historical and modern suspense novels.

Mason's book, La Florida: Flower of the Bitter Orange, won the 2025 Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Literary Award - Gold, Florida’s coveted writing prize. Moreover, Flower of the Bitter Orange won the Florida Writers Association Book of the Year, the 2025 Grand Prize.

His Journeyman Chronicles series on the American Revolutionary War are Amazon.com bestsellers. His latest series, Sunlit Silence, covers the Second World War in the Air. The books in this series became instant Amazon.com best-sellers in Historical War Fiction.

Journeyman: Heart of Tempered Steel won the 2023 Florida Writer’s Association Royal Palm Literary Award - Gold, Florida’s most prestigious writing prize.

His writing has been published in anthologies, academic journals, and books. Frank A. Mason lives in Florida with his overachieving wife, a professor who is the author of a series of children’s books.
